The Kånken was originally created in 1978 to help prevent back problems among Swedish school children and quickly became a familiar sight at preschools and nature schools throughout Sweden. Today, it has become one of Fjällräven’s most beloved products, helping people around the world carry their everyday essentials in comfort and style.

This classic backpack is equally suited to school, work, travelling and outdoor adventures. Made from hard-wearing and lightweight Vinylon F fabric, it is designed to withstand everyday dirt and wet conditions. The spacious main compartment features a large zippered opening, making packing and unpacking quick and easy. Two flat side pockets provide convenient storage, while a front zipped pocket keeps smaller essentials close at hand.

The included PE foam seat cushion is stored in the interior back pocket, helping prevent the contents of the backpack from pressing against your back while also providing a convenient seat whenever you need to take a break. The simple yet practical carrying system features sturdy top handles and slim, adjustable shoulder straps, allowing the Kånken to be carried as either a backpack or a bag.

The front logo is reflective for added visibility, while an internal name and address label makes it easy to identify your backpack. With a 16-litre capacity, the Kånken measures 27.5 cm wide, 36 cm high and 12 cm deep. It weighs 300 g and features internal storage, open external pockets, zipped external storage and a removable seat pad.
